Origami and Craft Sessions

Greetings to all LEAD’ers.

The Art/Origami workshop for the kids was planned well ahead and all the required materials that were requested by the concerned person were all kept ready. Only thing that was left was the kids to lay their hands in making paper crafts.

Rupesh sir had informed all the kids the previous day to get their marks sheets along and be at the center by 9:30 AM and as usual our kids were there on time with marks cards to show it to Rupesh sir their results. Kailash Sir as always was their along with Ramesh sir accompanying the kids before our craft teachers arrived.

After the introduction the event started with Vaibhavi and team explaining our kids about the art of origami, followed by the practical demonstration.First the kids were being thought on how to make a bird using the simple technique of the origami.Volunteers had a really hard time to manage our kids who were very excited.

Kids and all the volunteers were exhausted after a hour long origami workshop which involved all kinds of paper art like bird, ship, frog. It was time for the refreshments. Thanks to Rupesh sir for arranging the refreshments in the form of IDLI’s..:)

Would like to thank all our volunteers who were present on the day, Dipesh, Guddi, Chaitra, Swagata, Bhageshree, Shruthi and also to our new volunteers Kunal and his friend who had come to LEAD for the first time and thank you rupesh sir & kailash sir for the surprise..:)

Well as usual the day ended by our kids reciting our National Anthem. I once again like to thank Sharda for the wonderful Craft session on Saturday 1st May 2010 and her friend Vaibhavi for the Origami Workshop on Sunday 9th May 2010.They had come all the way from Belapur & Khargar respectively for conducting these events for our children.

"It was a great learning experience & fun for both of us too. And it was really encouraging to witness the bubbling enthusiasm & curiosity of these children for art & craft. We will surely come back soon with some more stuff...", say the event volunteers Vaibhavi & Sharda.

Thanks and Regards,

Arun.
